Can I have access to your database?
No :)
... but you'll be able to make your own database when we release our C++ daemon to the public. It's still in beta testing at the moment and we're working out the kinks. It will be released under GPL so everyone will be happy.
Can you create a KML file with all the repeater listings?
If ya'll can find me a good current repeater listings database I'll do it! Obviously needs to have lat/long/country/city/state ...
How can I contact you?

How can I help?
Donations! Click on the link ads you see below! Submit suggestions or bug reports! The resources we use to host this site and it's tools come at a price unfortunately and though we believe in open source and will not charge for the use of this service any and all donations will help! To make a donation visit our club's website at www dot n6nar dor org and chose the donate link, we'll even make you a club member and give you access to the private club forum.
How do I get your map toys on my website?
Give us a little time, we're workin on it!
What the heck is Google Earth?
Good question! Check out earth dot google dot com and download their Google Earth program and see for yourself, it's great! Once you've got it install hit our main page, type in a zip code or city and state pair then next to the search button click Download Google Earth KML. Double click the file where you've saved it and Google Earth should show up with your APRS and IRLP listings.
What's the number next to some of the GE files?
It's a download count, we thought it would be neat to show how many times the GE files have been downloaded...
When I login and hit recent searches the list is much shorter, why?
When you log in to the site the recent messages and recent searches pages are limited to searches or messages related to the callsign you signed up with. This gives you the ability to click on your most common searches or retrieve messages that have been sent to you.
If you left the callsign field blank you should still get the regular listing.
When using the Google Earth KML file how do I get it to refresh automatically?
We've designed the KML file to automatically refresh after 300 seconds. Which means all you have to do is download the KML file and double click it or open it in Google Earth and the data will be refreshed by Google Earth automatically. Spiffy huh?
Who's the behind the mask?
OpenAPRS was created by Greg (N7NXS) and is hosted and maintained by the Northbay Amatuer Radio Society in California. If you'd like to get in touch with us check out our website at www dot n6nar dot org we'd love to hear from you.
Why do I have to activate my new account?
We require that your account be attached to an email address that works. This prevents automated processes from abusing our service. We really have no interest in knowing your address and will not sell it or give it out.
We don't like it when services give ours out or spam us so we won't do it to you. :)
Why should I sign up for an account?
Simple, we've added the ability for you to visit the site and have it remember your preferences. Here's what we can remember for you:
1) Home Location
2) Default Station Limit
3) Default Range Limit
4) Favorite Tracked Stations
5) Default Resolution
We'll be adding more soon...
Information: Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS) is an amateur radio based system for real time tactical digital communications of information of immediate value in the local area. In addition, all such data is ingested into the APRS Internet system (APRS-IS) and distributed globally for instant access. In addition to messages, alerts, announcements and bulletins, the most visible aspect of APRS is its map display. Anyone may place any object or information on their map and it is distributed to all maps of all users in the local RF network or monitoring the area via the internet. Any station, radio or object that has an attached GPS is automatically tracked. Other prominent map features are weather stations, alerts and objects and other map related amateur radio volunteer activities including Search and Rescue and signal direction finding. -WikiPedia
